The end of Neoliberalism

The end of Neoliberalism This article was written by Ulrich Beck, academic sociologist of Münich's University, under the context of a society of insecurity provoked, according to his postulates, for the neoliberal system with examples like the terrorist act of the September 11 on the twins towers.
But, how does Ulrich relate the theme of the terrorist attempted with to the neoliberal system and his decadence?
Beck talk about the premises of the neoliberal system, of a market with free competition, with labor flexibility, a State with low intervening power and under the trinity deregulation-liberalization-privatization. With this, Beck, accomplish an analogy on the labor flexibility existent in the security of the airports of USA provoking one hardworking qualified in hours and removed of his position in six months.
With globalization, neoliberalism is expanded, as also this sentiment of insecurity in all of the spaces is expanded. Without brushing aside the cost-reducing consequences and politics that this drags system along. Existing a thought accordingly and to not to be a change of possible system.
But Beck believes than if a possible change to the neoliberal model saying that you are not in the national protectionism exists . What we needed is an ample conception of the policy that be in conditions to regulate the potential of crisis and inherent conflicts to the world economy.

ASSIGNMENT 5: CAREER-RELATED TOPIC

My theme of interest is about business cycles and the economic situation, in the social space. But the theme is discussed not by a classical economic vision, rather it is a vision of the social phenomena that affect and that are affected by this economic situation.

The theme of the social economy in the country is worked of superficial way, because it is not of great interest and the specialists about this theme not discuss the importance of the social latent phenomena in all of the economic structural changes. Adjudicating the bigger importance to the purely economic changes, numbers and everything that have to do with the economic changes.

The theme is of great interest for me, and I have read texts, magazines, papers on it at the University, but my great learning is for the individual reading and the own quest of this theme. What delivered big tools to understand business cycles to me but from the point of view of the social problems, of those phenomena that happen behind the economic trend, the possible causes and effects in the world of what's social.

I would like to be able to understand these social phenomena that accomplish changes in the social structures, like also that it is what a economic change at the structures and social institutions would cause . Of way to understand the implicated interdependence of the two systems in this type of studies

Then my interest consists in this, in this understanding of the investigated theme, developing explanations that the present-day problems of better way and more comprise complete, that would in reality look for the sociology, a social totality.

Now I will put two links related with the treated subject matter:

These two links are a Chilean entities but also his similes in the international diagram exist .

My favorite song...

My favorite song is "There There" of Radiohead.

Radiohead is a great alternative band of rock. They are influenced by many styles of music as electronic, post-punk and classic rock music, but his music is unique.
Radiohead is considered one of the most creative bands of the world getting the prize for best album of 90's. This albums is OK Computer.
Its themes are social and express the problems of post modern society. The songs are thoughtful and very depressed.
Radiohead is a British band formed in 1985, but his debut album is released in 1992.
The lastest published record is "In Rainbows" in 2007, and it can be downloaded paying whathever each person want to pay for it.

This song talks about internal feelings of a person who is in some unspeakable atmosphere, in some continuity hidden, somehow by a feeling of tearing, deep, at times choking, of sadness and uncertainty.
But there is always a small light of hope within the deep, dark woods of consciousness where you can find good things of life.

The lyrics of the song "There there" is:

In pitch dark I go walking in your landscape.

Broken branches trip me as I speak.

Just cos you feel it doesn't mean it's there.

Just cos you feel it doesn't mean it's there.

There's always a siren singing you to shipwreck (don't reach out, don't reach out)
Stay away from these rocks we'd be a walking disaster (don't reach out, don't reach out )

Just cos you feel it doesn't mean it's there (there's someone on your shoulder)

Just cos you feel it doesn't mean it's there (there's someone on your shoulder)
There there...
Why so green
And lonely
Heaven sent you
To me
We are accidents waiting
Waiting to happen
We are accidents waiting
Waiting to happen

2. Did you find enough information in the article? Did you find the info you were looking for?

Yes, I found plenty of information of the stock market, shareholders and selling shares. I found the information I was looking for, but I didn't learn something new from the article. It was about basic information of the stock market.

3. What was the most interesting thing you learnt about it?

The most interesting thing that I read from the article is about the movements of the offer and demand, for "selling shares" and how you assign the price to these "selling shares", having a speculative symbol to this assignment of prices.
